Dos de siete periodistas que realizaban el domingo un reportaje en el barrio haitiano de Cité Soleil, escenario de un sangriento enfrentamiento entre bandas, fueron asesinados y posteriormente quemados, informó ayer lunes la prensa local.
Los periodistas fueron identificados como Frantzsen Charles, que trabaja para FS News, y Tayson Lartigue, de Ti Jenn Jounalis.
Consultado por Efe, el portavoz de la Policía Nacional, Garry Desrosiers, dijo tener “conocimiento, a través de la prensa, de que cinco de los periodistas “salieron con dificultad” del lugar y, según ellos, “los otros dos fueron disparados”.
“Tenemos información de que han sido asesinados”, continuó, sin embargo, precisó que la información no ha podido ser confirmada oficialmente. Desrosiers animó a los periodistas a tener cuidado cuando vayan a barrios como Cité Soleil, que están en constante guerra.
